Camp Counselor & Jr. Camp Counselor Job Description
Do you enjoy working with children? Are you interested in working locally and having fun outside this summer? Lincoln Sports is looking for camp counselors for its summer of 2024 program!
There are two camps, one for ages 4-6 and the other for ages 7-12. Camp for ages 7-12 operate out of the beautiful forest, fields, and riverfront of Lincoln Sports land in the town center of Lincoln, VT. Camp for ages 4-6 operates at the Lincoln Prek/Lincoln Community School. Activities include river swimming, water games, hiking, fort building, arts and crafts, tag, sports, and more!
The camp counselor will follow the lead of the Camp Director and Assistant Director to carry out daily activities, lead games, activities, and outdoor explorations, and supervise a group of children throughout the camp day.
Camps sessions are the weeks of July 1 (off on the 4th), July 8, July 15, July 22, July 29, and August 5. Staff training is June 26-28.
Qualifications:
Counselor: Must be at least 18 years of age by June 20
Junior Counselor: Must be at least 15 years of age by June 20
Love working with children
Creative, nurturing, responsible, and enthusiastic
Strong leadership skills
Extremely safety conscious
Must commit to working all 6 week sessions from 8:15 - 4:15 Monday to Friday.
Currently hold or are willing to obtain CPR/First Aid and Lifeguard certification (paid for by Lincoln Sports)
Counselors and Junior Counselors earn $15 - $20/hour. For more information about camp, visit www.lincolnsports.org.
